Extend Ply—By Contour
With this new feature, you can extend a ply boundary by seamlessly joining it with one or more closed-loop contours.

How it Works:

  1. Original ply boundary
  2. Extension contour
  3. Extended ply boundary

You can select an existing closed-loop contour or easily create a new one using curves and edges on the fly.

The extend action is always performed within the layup quilt.

User Interface Location: In the Composite Design environment click Extend >  Extend by Contour.

Benefits
This enhancement adds more flexibility to Composite Design and improves preparation for manufacturing.

Additional Information

  • Limitations: You can extend only plies, not cores.
  • Does this replace existing functionality? No.
  • Configuration options: None.
