Description
You can now connect all preserved bodies and surfaces in Generative Design. A new geometric constraint, Connect Preserved Bodies and Surfaces, is added to the Design Criteria dialog box. This constraint is applicable to all study types.
This constraint is useful in the following scenarios:
- If the optimized geometry is not connected because of over-constraining.
- If the preserved geometry is outside the load path.
- If connecting all preserved bodies and surfaces is not necessary for this use case.

In the Generative Tree, the Connect Preserved Bodies and Surfaces constraint appears under the Additional Information node.
Benefits
This enhancement improves optimization results by more accurately capturing the design intent. The new constraint is simple and effective to apply.
