Streamlined Shrinkwrap Features in Creo 11 with Multibody Support

The Shrinkwrap feature in Creo 11 now allows you to collect bodies from a source assembly and add them to the target part with enhanced flexibility. By enabling the “Autocollect all solid geometry” option, you can include solid bodies as the resulting geometry type.

Creo Parametric 11.0.0.0

User Interface Location: Click Model >  Shrinkwrap.

Copying Methods Available:

  1. Copy All Bodies Individually
    • Transfers each body from the source part to the target part as a separate object.
    • Body names, materials, parameters, and construction attributes are retained.
  2. Merge Bodies from a Single Source Part
    • Combines all bodies from the same source part into one resulting body.
    • The resulting body name matches the source part, with material, parameters, and construction attributes transferred from the first body.
  3. Merge Bodies from Multiple Source Parts
    • Merges all bodies from different source parts into one.
    • Use the Body Options tab to add geometry to an existing body or create a new one.

If merging fails due to model accuracy differences, you can select the “Leave as separate objects if operation fails” option to ensure feature creation. Legacy Shrinkwrap features are regenerated as before and upgraded to the new version when edited.

Key Benefits:

  • Simplifies the process of creating envelopes, simplified models, or conceptual designs.
  • Provides faster and more intuitive geometry selection for parts and assemblies.

Additional Information:

Configuration Options: None.

Limitations: Merging may fail if source parts have differing model accuracies.

Does This Replace Existing Functionality? No.
