A new enhancement adds tangential arc support for entry and exit motions in trajectory milling. With the ARC_TANGENT option, you can now create lead-in or lead-out arcs along the tool axis that are tangential to the cut. This is achieved by setting ARC_TANGENT as the value for the CUT_ENTRY_EXT parameter (entry motion) or the CUT_EXIT_EXT parameter (exit motion).

Creo Parametric 11.0.0.0
User Interface Location:
1.In Manufacturing, click Mill > Trajectory. The Trajectory tab opens.
2.Click the Parameters tab.
3.In the parameters list, set the CUT_ENTRY_EXT or CUT_EXIT_EXT parameter to ARC_TANGENT under the Entry/Exit Motions category.

Key Benefits
This feature provides several key advantages:
- Optimized Entry and Exit Movements: Ensures smooth and precise transitions along the direction of the cut.
- Enhanced Tool Durability: Reduces the likelihood of breaking small tools during machining.
- Broad Compatibility: Supports 3, 4, and 5-axis trajectory steps for versatile application.
Additional Details
- Limitations: None reported.
- Does it replace existing functionality? No.
- Configuration Options Required: None.
This improvement makes trajectory milling more efficient, precise, and tool-friendly, catering to the needs of both simple and complex machining tasks.
