The modernized Project and Offset tools, which were initially introduced in Creo 9.0, now offer broader support in Creo 10.0 for trajectory-based features such as curve patterns, sweep flanges, and more.
Creo Parametric 10.0.0.0
User Interface Locations:
•Sketch > Project
•Sketch > Offset
Benefits
This enhancement includes the following functionalities:
- The All curves in feature collection rule is now added to the Project tool, which is evaluated only upon the creation of the sketch.

- Enhanced usability with more flexibility in handling projected and offset geometry:
- When working with composite curves created by projecting or offsetting geometry, you can now reference individual entities from the composite curve in action-object-based workflows (such as dimensioning and constraining tools, including concentric circle and concentric arc tools).
- The Fillet and Chamfer tools now automatically split composite curves and insert the desired round or chamfer.
- The Mirror tool provides better support for composite curves.
- When referencing an entity of a composite curve, it adds an explicit reference to the chain or loop, visible in tools outside Sketcher like Edit References and Reference Viewer.
- You can now project or offset geometry as construction geometry.
- Improved troubleshooting capabilities for chain references in the Project and Offset tools, making it easier to identify issues when regeneration fails.
- These enhancements combine the advantages of chain selection introduced in Creo 9.0 with additional flexibility to work with Project or Offset operations.

•There is more detailed reference information available, which shows the referenced component of external references.

While the Blend tool does not yet fully support the modernized Project and Offset capabilities, it has been enhanced to allow referencing of centerlines, coordinate systems, points, and construction geometry, alongside solid sketched geometry from existing sections.
These improvements increase the ease and flexibility of using and managing 3D chain references within Sketcher. Additionally, workflow alignments and the removal of certain limitations enhance the overall usability of the Project and Offset tools.
Additional Information
- Limitations: Projecting or offsetting in the Blend tool.
- Does This Replace Existing Functionality? No, it enhances existing functionality.
- Configuration Option: None.
This enhancement improves the flexibility and usability of Sketcher workflows, making it easier to work with projected and offset geometry.
