A new Flip option has been introduced to the Split/Trim tool, offering enhanced flexibility when splitting by volume. With this addition, you can easily swap between two definition schemes:

  • Default Scheme:
    • Split: Identify volumes to split out into a new body.
    • Trim: Identify volumes to remove.
  • Flipped Scheme (New):
    • Split: Identify volumes to keep in the original body.
    • Trim: Identify volumes not to remove.

The new scheme provides a more intuitive and robust way to define features with fewer selections. It helps simplify the process, making it easier to define the desired outcome, especially for complex operations such as patterning and ensuring stable regeneration of subsequent operations.

Creo Parametric 10.0.0.0

User Interface Location: Click Model >  Split/Trim Body.

Example:
To remove or split out the red volumes from the green bodies, you can now select the blue surfaces and simply click Flip.

Benefits

  • Offers greater flexibility in defining volume references for a Split feature.
  • Enables more stable and predictable regeneration, improving the overall efficiency of the design process.

Additional Information

  • Limitations: No known limitations.
  • Does This Replace Existing Functionality? No.
  • Configuration Option: None.

This new option streamlines your workflow and provides enhanced control over volume splitting, allowing for more efficient modeling.
