Description
In Creo Parametric, the rule-based chain selection has been enhanced for workflows that involve inheritance features.
The enhancements include:

  • The All Curves in Feature rule enables you to define a chain that considers only the geometry from a single feature within an inheritance feature. Previously, the rule considered the entire inheritance feature as the context. This enhancement enables projecting curves or chains from a specific sketch feature within an inheritance feature, even if the inheritance feature includes additional curves.
  • For loop calculation, Complete Loop and Partial Loop now only consider the sub-level feature context.
  • The All Curves in Feature chain rule stores the anchor geometry as the primary reference. However, during chain definition you can choose either the anchor curve or the feature. Additionally, this flexibility applies to Replace References, User-Defined Features (UDF), and Copy-Paste Special workflows with Advanced Reference Configuration for features using the All Curves in Feature rule.

Benefits
This enhancement improves overall design productivity and provides greater flexibility during curve selection.
