Are you ready for PTC Creo 3.0? Upgrade Now

PTC announced some terrific new features with the debut of PTC Creo 3.0 yesterday, and it’s time to think about upgrading. You’ll likely have your favorite parts of the PTC Creo Parametric 3.0 release, but mine are:

  • The multi-CAD collaboration enhancements, which let you import or open (an important distinction) common CAD file formats without a translator or a license to the authoring program. Just think how that will simplify your work with partners who aren’t using PTC Creo or how this will support CAD consolidation.
  • The PTC Creo Design Exploration Extension (DEX) that enables designers to move between design branches as they work out which alternative design concepts and to easily understand the consequences of design changes.
  • The Notification Center, which points out problems in the history tree, such as failed items. You’ll quickly see the issue, be able to get more details and devise a resolution before getting too far along in the design to take action.
