You can now run an initial simulation on the starting geometry before generating new designs. You can run the initial simulation for both modal and structural studies.
User Interface Location: Click Applications > Generative Design > Run Initial Simulation.

Release: Creo Parametric 9.0.0.0
What is the benefit of this enhancement?
This enhancement provides insight into the stress or frequency response of the non-optimized geometry, ensuring that the study is set up correctly for optimization. For example, if the initial simulation shows that the safety factor of the starting geometry is lower than the desired safety factor for the optimized part, further volume optimizations may not be possible for that material, indicating that the study should be redefined.
After optimization, you can compare the initial simulation results with the optimization results side-by-side using the Show Split Screen View button in the graphics toolbar.

Previously, Generative Design did not provide a method to determine the simulation results of the starting geometry. This enhancement ensures that the study setup is valid and properly defined for optimization.
