In the past, relating symbols or surface finish annotations to other annotations in Model-Based Definition (MBD) was a manual and non-associative process that lacked persistence when the parent annotation was moved. This enhancement introduces a more efficient way to link these annotations within 3D models. The new placement option allows you to establish relationships between symbols or surface finishes and other annotations, offering a more dynamic and persistent solution.
Key Features:
- The ability to link offset placement symbols and surface finish annotations to other MBD annotations.
- Symbols or surface finishes inherit the same annotation plane as the parent annotation.
- Group or stack behavior for related annotations (enabling mutual movement, combination state assignments, etc.).
- Highlighting of the parent annotation when a related symbol or surface finish is selected, and vice versa.
- Ability to associate multiple symbols or surface finishes with a single parent annotation.
- Flexibility to unlink a related symbol or surface finish from a parent annotation.
Creo Parametric 10.0.0.0

Benefits:
- Simplified and robust placement options for linking symbols and surface finishes to other annotations in MBD.
- Enhanced workflows for inspection planning, tracking, and various MBD use cases in Model-Based Definition and Model-Based Enterprise.
- Improved placement options for surface finish annotations, ensuring better compliance with detailed drawing standards.
Additional Information:
Limitations:
- This capability does not support datum feature symbol annotations.
- It is not applicable when trying to relate a symbol or surface finish to a child annotation already linked to a parent.
Does this replace existing functionality? No.
Configuration Option: None required for this functionality.
