In Creo Parametric 11.0.0.0, the process of transferring density information from Creo Elements/Direct to Creo Parametric has been significantly optimized. The Open and Import workflows now automatically create a dedicated material for each imported part, ensuring a more seamless experience. The material’s density is set to match the base density of the respective source part, and the material name is derived by adding the suffix _MTRL to the source part name. Additionally, the part parameter PTC_MASTER_MATERIAL is automatically set to the created material. This enhancement enables automatic utilization of the original density information for imported models.

Creo Parametric 11.0.0.0
User Interface Location: File > Import, or File > Open.
Benefits:
- Simplifies the density transfer process by automatically creating and assigning materials and densities without requiring manual linking.
- Eliminates the need for using relations in import templates, saving time and avoiding errors.
Additional Information:
- A new component parameter, CED_COMPONENT_INSTANCE_DENSITY, is now available, which stores the instance-level density value.
- Tips: In addition to the previous CED_DENSITY parameter, the new CED_COMPONENT_INSTANCE_DENSITY ensures better management of density values.
Limitations: No known limitations.
Does this replace existing functionality? No, this is an enhancement.
Configuration options required: None.
