User Interface Location: In the Composite environment, do one of the following:

  • Click Trim/Extend Ply.
  • Click Trim/Extend Ply > Trim Ply.
  • Click Trim/Extend Ply > Extend Ply.

Description
You can now trim the boundaries of plies and cores by specifying a value, a reference, or a contour.

The trim and extend functions are now combined in a single Trim/Extend Ply action, allowing you to easily switch between trimming and extending. The three existing methods – By Offset, By Reference, and By Contour – can now be used seamlessly within this unified workflow.

When using the trim by reference method, multiple plies can be trimmed at once using the same curve, edge, or datum plane as the reference.

These enhancements provide greater flexibility during composite design and preparation for manufacturing, improving overall productivity.
