Starting from Creo 9.0, the new geodesic 5 axis finish toolpath complements the finishing toolpaths that are included in the 5 axis HSM extension. It eliminates many manual steps to prepare the geometry for finishing toolpaths. It provides a better surface finish quality and additional flexibility to create 5 axis finishing toolpaths.
This enhancement adds the following capabilities:
- Automatic holes filling
- Use of containment curves laying on the surface
- Morphing between two curves laying on the surface
- Multiple controls for tilting
Geodesic machining is the next step in the evolution of the constant step-over pattern generation for finishing toolpaths.
