What is the benefit of this enhancement?
The standalone surface finish can now collect semantic references. A dedicated Semantic Reference command is available on the new contextual surface finish ribbon. The attachment reference is automatically added, and additional references can also be included.

This enhancement is useful for associating all relevant references with a surface finish used in the model. It provides an easy way to add semantic references to surface finish instances for model-based definition and enables the reuse of this information in downstream applications.
Surface finish now also supports the following additional capabilities of standalone annotations:
- You can create associated parameters for standalone surface finish instances.
- You can designate the surface finish as a control characteristic.
- Issues about failing surface finish references are reported in the notification center.
- Surface finish instances are supported by the semantic query tool.
- You can exclude surface finish instances when their parent references are suppressed, excluded, or deleted.
