Working with assemblies that have missing components is now more manageable in Creo. A new enhancement enables you to retrieve a missing component by selecting a renamed version of the original model, making the process smoother and more intuitive.
User Interface Location: In the Model Tree, right-click the missing component and then click Retrieve Missing Component.
Release: Creo Parametric 9.0.0.0
What’s the Benefit of This Enhancement?
This improvement simplifies the task of resolving missing components by offering:
- Direct selection of renamed or copied models to replace the missing component.
- Automatic updates to all child references and relations, eliminating manual adjustments.
In earlier versions, replacing a missing component with a renamed model was not feasible, even when the models were identical. With this update, you can now bypass tedious renaming steps and resolve missing components with ease.

Additional Information:
- Limitations: None.
