Watch a video that demonstrates this enhancement:
What is the benefit of this enhancement?
Creo introduces a new geodesic 5-axis finishing toolpath that complements the existing finishing strategies available in the 5-axis HSM extension.
This enhancement adds the following capabilities:
- Automatic holes filling
- Use of containment curves laying on the surface
- Morphing between two curves laying on the surface
- Multiple controls for tilting
Geodesic machining represents the next evolution of constant step-over pattern generation for finishing toolpaths. This approach reduces the need for manual geometry preparation while improving surface finish quality.
The update also offers greater flexibility when creating 5-axis finishing toolpaths, helping streamline the overall finishing workflow without replacing any existing functionality.
