Creo now offers enhanced support for exporting additional references included in note annotations when using STEP AP242. This means that not only the defined references but also any additional surfaces or chain references are included in the export, maintaining the integrity of the annotations across different applications.

Release: Creo Parametric 9.0.0.0

What’s the Benefit of This Enhancement?

This improvement provides a significant boost to your annotation workflow:

  • Complete Export of References: Additional references such as surface and chain references are now included in STEP AP242 exports along with the note annotations.
  • Improved Interoperability: When the STEP AP242 file is imported into Creo Parametric or other applications, all the references—defined and additional—are accurately represented.
  • Preserved Design Intent: By capturing these extra references, the design intent is maintained when exchanging data, ensuring the quality and consistency of product manufacturing information (PMI).

Previously, only the core references used to create the note annotations were imported/exported, leaving out additional references. This enhancement ensures a more comprehensive and reliable export of annotation data, improving data quality and usability across different platforms.
