Creo Parametric now automatically detects shell pairs using midsurface geometry. You can use mesh controls for shell elements and review the geometry through a visual representation.
This enhancement works with automatic contact detection. Shell pairs are listed in the Model Tree, and mixed meshing is supported for shell, beam, and solid elements.

What is the benefit of this enhancement?
This enhancement is useful when simulating shell elements by compressing thin geometry into a midsurface. Creo Parametric automatically connects shells, allowing you to use contact or joints to connect shells with other elements such as solids or beams.
Previously, midsurface geometry capability was not available.
This enhancement delivers faster solutions for models using shell elements, with automatic detection and connections, and added flexibility for mixed meshes.
