In Generative Design, you can now define a point mass to represent a concentrated mass without stiffness or a specific shape, and apply it to the preserved geometry surfaces. This point mass idealization allows you to study how the model behaves with the mass located at a specific point, without the need to define the entire geometry. A centrifugal or acceleration load is required to support the point mass idealization.

This new feature is available in both Modal and Structural studies, enhancing your ability to simulate and optimize design conditions effectively.

Creo Parametric 10.0.0.0

User Interface Location: In the Generative Design application, click Physics > Mass.

Benefits:

This enhancement provides an easy way to apply a mass load without specifying the full geometry, simplifying the simulation process. It helps capture the design intent and maintain accurate loading conditions for more efficient design optimization.

Additional Information:

  • Limitations: There are no known limitations for this functionality.
  • Does this replace existing functionality? No.
  • Configuration Option: No specific configuration option is associated with this functionality.

By utilizing mass idealizations, you gain flexibility in how mass is represented in your design studies, improving the precision and efficiency of your generative design workflow.
