Creo now allows you to replace a component in an assembly with an assembly that contains the same component. This powerful enhancement streamlines the replacement process, ensuring a smoother and more efficient workflow.

User Interface Locations:

•In an assembly, click Operations > Replace.

•In the Model Tree, select the component and click Replace on the mini toolbar.

What’s the Benefit of This Enhancement?

This update is particularly useful when managing complex assemblies that require swapping a component for a related assembly. With this enhancement:

  • All external child references are automatically updated, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.
  • The replacement process is simplified, saving time and reducing potential errors.

In previous versions of Creo, replacing a component with an assembly that included the same component required manual intervention to maintain references. Now, this process is seamless and intuitive.
