It was not possible to easily replace a component with an assembly that contains that same component, and have all external child references to be automatically updated.

Starting from Creo Parametric 9.0, manual adjustments are not needed to replace a part with an assembly that contains the same component.

User Interface Location:

  • In an assembly, click Operations > Replace.
  • In the Model Tree, select the component and click Replace on the mini toolbar.
