The Style feature now supports a smooth curve connection with G3 – Acceleration for mirrored curves across a mirror plane. This enhancement improves the quality and smoothness of mirrored curves.
Creo Parametric 10.0.0.0
User Interface Location: Select the original curve, click Style > Curve Edit, and select the point at the mirror plane that is shared by the original curve and the mirrored curve. When the tangent appears, do one of the following:
•Click the Tangent tab, and next to the First constraint, select Smooth Normal.
•Right-click the tangent, and select Smooth Normal.
Benefits
By using the new Smooth Normal tangent connection type, you can achieve smooth curves with G3 – Acceleration across the mirror plane, making it ideal for designing symmetrical models. This connection type ensures a seamless transition across the mirror plane, resulting in high-quality surfaces.
The enhancement reduces the need to manually adjust curve control points to approximate the acceleration connection. Previously, setting a tangent connection for a curve normal to a mirror plane only resulted in a G2 – Curvature connection, which has now been improved to G3 for better surface continuity.
